We would like to cordially invite you to attend our next "CITRIS - Europe" Research Symposium on July 11 and 12, 2007, in London. This event is generously sponsored by BT and Microsoft, and supported by University College, London, and Imperial College, London.

Agenda | Locations and maps

CITRIS (http://www.citris-uc.org/) is the Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society, a powerful partnership of university, industry, and government, centered within the University of California. Our mission is to create and harness information technology to tackle some of society's most critical needs, with more than 300 faculty members from over 50 departments at four UC campuses (Berkeley, Davis, Merced, and Santa Cruz).

We will hold a full-day symposium at the Wellcome Building on July 11th, and the second day (July 12th) will consist of focused, parallel workshops at Imperial College London. CITRIS faculty members will give technical talks, presenting their findings and holding discussion sessions in key areas, including:
  • Wireless, Sensors and Telecommunications
  • Energy and the Environment
  • Future Network Architectures and their Impact
  • Services and the Global Society

Your participation is very important to us, and we sincerely hope that you will accept this invitation to join with your colleagues in what promises to be a valuable experience. Invitations are being sent throughout Europe, and a meeting website with more details has been set up at http://www.citris-uc.org/CITRIS-in-Europe-2007.

We will offer subsidized registration, thanks to the generous sponsorship of BT and Microsoft, and members of any corporate sponsor company may register at no charge (http://www.citris-uc.org/partners/corporate).

About CITRIS:
CITRIS is the Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society, a powerful partnership of university, industry, and government, centered within the University of California, with main headquarters on the UC Berkeley campus. Its mission is to create and harness information technology to tackle some of society's most critical needs. More than 100 faculty members in engineering, science, social science, law, information management, health care, and other disciplines at four UC campuses (Berkeley, Davis, Merced, and Santa Cruz) are collaborating with researchers at more than 60 supporting companies on CITRIS research. CITRIS incubates research on problems that have a major impact on the economy, quality of life, and pressing global issues, such as: conserving energy; education; saving lives, property, and productivity in the wake of disasters; boosting transportation efficiency; advancing diagnosis and treatment of disease; and expanding business growth through much richer personalized information services.
