Abstract:

Most operations research (OR) models for the services industry focus on business to consumer services, and consider issues such as offering composition, channel management, pricing, and staffing. The business services segment, in which one enterprise performs a business function for another enterprise, has received relatively little attention, despite its recent rapid growth. This talk will outline some of the opportunities for OR in business services.
