On June 12, His Excellency Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Prime Minister of Denmark, addressed a gathering of faculty, students, and visiting guests. In a 45-minute talk entitled "Partnership in a Globalized World: A Declaration of Interdependence," Rasmussen outlined proposals for the creation of an economic union between the European Union and the United States and mutual efforts for sustainable development. This event was hosted jointly by CITRIS and the Berkeley Roundtable on the International Economy (BRIE).

Aside from the formal presentation, the Prime Minister and his wife, Anne-Mette Rasmussen, met with students during a luncheon and less formal gathering.
