Cancer Imaging: Promises to Keep
This symposium will feature state of the art imaging for staging cancer and detecting recurrent disease. Recognizing the limitations in sensitivity and specificity of current technology, exciting, new approaches in various stages of development will be presented. These technologies will cover the spectrum from clinical trials, pre-clinical mouse models, to development of new imaging agents. Symposium discussants represent leaders in basic and applied chemistry, physics and bioengineering research. It is expected that these advances will also result in the ability to determine the potential of tumors to spread as well as provide in real time responsiveness of tumors to targeted cancer therapies. Speakers Include: Paul Alivisatos, UC BerkeleyCarolyn Bertozzi, QB3 UC Berkeley Doug Hanahan, QB3 UCSF John Kurhanewicz, QB3 UCSF Frank McCormick, UCSF Sarah Nelson, QB3 UCSF Marc Shuman, QB3 UCSF Alex Pines, QB3 UC Berkeley Nick van Bruggen, Genentech, Inc. Attendance is free for academia. Registration
will be available on We would also like to advise your colleagues to attend and to encourage you to present a poster (as an added inducement we are offering the poster selected as best by the attendees an iPod Nano). Last Updated: September 11, 2006 - 3:40pm
