Danish Ambassador on "EU as a Rising Superpower"

Friis Arne Petersen, Danish Ambassador to the United States, will speak on “EU as a Rising Superpower.”

In his presentation, the Ambassador will talk about why, in his view, the EU is a rising superpower. In so doing, the Ambassador will touch upon a number of issues that set the EU apart from other competing powers, chief among them, the U.S. These issues include, but are not limited to, environmental policy and other questions pertinent to the issue of Climate Change. In his talk, the Ambassador will also touch on some of the challenges that the EU faces in the years ahead: economic growth, immigration, etc. Finally, he will talk about the future of Transatlantic cooperation, as well as some of the areas where the U.S. and the EU can learn from one another.
