CITRIS Holiday Gala

  • December 8, 2006: 3:00pm - 5:00pm
  • Location: Hearst Memorial Mining Building, Gordon and Betty Moore Lobby, UC Berkeley

On Friday, December 8th, CITRIS hosted both the Resonance Project's presentation of: The Reception and the CITRIS Holiday Gala. These events both took place in the Gordon and Betty Moore Lobby of the Hearst Memorial Mining Building on the UC Berkeley campus.

Beginning at 4:00 p.m., the annual holiday party for members of the entire CITRIS community featured carolers and refreshments, along with the chance to catch up with other CITRIS researchers and supporters in a festive surrounding.

And then at 6:00 p.m., members of the CITRIS Resonance Project gave a dance performance involving participants dancing together in different and remote geographical regions, with the resulting presentation broadcast into the Moore Lobby. The Reception was a cross-disciplinary performance utilizing tele-immersion technology and dance choreography within a live theatrical environment. The Resonance Project is a team of choreographers, computer engineers, and visual and sound artists who are investigating concepts of presence/remote presence and corporeal and code interactivity within live and media-based performance.
