CITRIS Collaborative Gallery Builder: Downloads

This software is distributed under the BSD open source license agreement.

    Note -
  • ".exe" downloads are standard Windows installers, and contain a complete gallery application along with Croquet itself.
  • "partial.zip" downloads contain only the gallery additions to Croquet, which may be manually installed on top of a previous Croquet or Gallery full installation.
  • Windows and Linux users can run the "partial.zip" downloads by following the instructions here.

Citris Gallery Utilities
Orion Extra Source orionextrasource.zip.zip Source code to sample streaming server and the TI Data-massager (including data reduction). VC6 Source & Executables ~43MB
TeleImmersion Processor tiprocess.zip Small utility to massage data from Sang's tele immersion. VC6 Source, Windows Executable ~40KB
Vrml Image Extractor vrml extract images.zip This is a little command-line utility to extract images from VRML2 files which include them in-line.
(Motivation: the konica-minolta software for our 3D scanner outputs them this way, but Croquet needs the files to be external.)
Windows Executable ~360KB
Vrml Image Extractor Source vrml extract images src.zip VC6 Source code to above.
The code is cross-platform, but will need some work to compile outside of Windows.
Uses the DevIL open source image library.
Cross-Platform Source ~772KB

Machintosh Workaround

The Citris Digital Gallery Software runs on top of Croquet, a cross-platform 3D Collaborative Framework. Thus, the gallery software is largely cross-platform.

However, there are a few unfinished edges:
  • Software Packaging.
We're pretty much PC people, and while we can test on OS X, we're fairly unfamiliar with packaging things nicely on the Mac. So you will need to follow the install directions outlined below.
  • Pathname Conventions.
Macintosh, *nix, and Windows all use slightly different path-name conventions.
Croquet (actually, Squeak) provides some assistance to programmers in this department, but we haven't had time yet to work it in to the Gallery software.
This does not affect files loaded via a browser dialog, but a handful of hardwired textures in the software (walls, buttons, etc) will not load on OS X.

We intend to knock both these items as soon as there's time.

Here is how to go ahead and use the software on OS X (or *nix, theoretically) in the meantime:
  1. Download the appropriate distribution of Croquet from here.
  2. Make sure you can successfully launch Croquet.
  3. Download the Windows Citris Gallery Software.
  4. Unzip the file and copy these items from the zip into the same croquet folder which contains "Croquet0.1.image":
    • Citris (folder)
    • Example Content (folder)
    • Citris Gallery x.x.x.image (file)
    • Citris Gallery x.x.x.changes (file)
  5. Launch the Citris Gallery x.x.x.image file via Squeak.
Known Problems

  • Textures with hard-coded pathnames won't load. (eg walls, buttons, new floor textures)

  • Keyboard - Please enable Caps Lock to make the navigation keys work.

Please let us know if you find any other issues!
