ABSTRACT

Perhaps it is not considered very fast in the automobile market... but as research labs go, I think we are doing well.  Starting in Jan 2005, we have grown to about 50 people now and our V6 high horsepower engine firing at high RPM in six different research areas: Technology for emerging markets, Multilingual Systems, Digital Geographics, Rigorous Software Engineering, Cryptography, Security, and Algorithms, and Mobility, Networks and Systems.   Not to mention a lively transmission system called the Advanced Development and Prototyping team that is actively working closely with many MS product teams on technology transfer and on prototyping cool innovative ideas.  And a jazzy External Research and Program effort that has all our academic partners excited.   It's all muscle, chrome, and speed!

In this talk I will give an update of the activities in the lab and tell you about our experience in the last two years in India.  Some stories, much information, and many pictures... It has been a fun, fast ride and I would like to tell you about it!
